Connecting CIUMon to a CIU

  1. If CIUMon will connect through OPC90, set up OPC90.
  2. On the Options menu, click CIUMon Settings.
  3. Click the Configuration tab.
  4. In the UDP Port box, type the UDP port for CIUMon to use.

    Note: If multiple instances of CIUMon will be running on the same computer, they must use different UDP ports. Otherwise, the default port 5099 should be used. Provision for other ports is made to handle some uncommon IT configurations.

  5. Click the option button for the CIU type.
  6. If any of the following special situations apply, change the settings as needed:
  7. Click the Communication Modes tab.
  8. Do one of the following:
  9. In the Baud Rate list, click the baud rate of the serial port connected to the CIU.

    Note: If you are using virtual serial ports, this setting doesn't matter.

  10. If you know that any of the other settings on this tab need to be changed for your setup, change them now. Usually the defaults are fine.
  11. Click OK.
  12. On the File menu, click Connect. You should see, in green, Communicating with Ring R Node N . . . and OK on a line by itself.
  13. Using Hyperview, check to make sure you can access live data. See Live Data Configuration in Hyperview and Displaying Autofocus live data in Hyperview.
