CrypKey initialization error
or you see in the BuildPlus window:
CrypKey initialization has failed.
INITIALIZATION: DRIVER FAILED OR BUSY
This problem must be resolved before
BuildPlus can determine its licensing status.
The following are possible explanations for CrypKey license loss:
- You have deleted your GMCL.key file
- Norton Utilities Speed Disk (included with Symantec's Norton Utilities) will move licensing files which will cause license loss. The following files are UNMOVABLE: *.ent, *.rst, *.key.
- Norton defrag runs (this can also cause problems by moving the licensing files)
- Atomic clock program affects license. Disable the time synchronization feature of this program.
- System time out by more than 1 hr 15 min. (this is similar to the Atomic clock issue)
- You may be using an expired trial version of DBDOC.
- Application has been reinstalled
- Any of the license files have been moved
- Issue specific to XP Home Edition: CrypKey requires that the application user has ADMIN privileges to the application directory and since XP Home only allows security changes on a global level, you must log in to the ADMIN account.
- None of the above - sometimes the license just disappears!
The file GMCL.ckn contains debugging information that may help us troubleshoot issues with your DBDOC license.
