Using Custom Edit

On the Tools menu, click Project Options and navigate to the Custom Edit tab.

The top box Custom Edit Selections lists default custom edits typically used:

client mcb - ensures a remapping of tags such as 29-41 to 29-MC. This is present for a particular client, and has no impact for others.
dxf-color 2,163,151,7 (and others) - remaps color 2 to a different shade (163,151,7) (See below for more information.)
link_slave_references - makes a label for a non-exception-reported slave block in order to make links from the slaves on CAD sheets to AutoCAD drawings or other documents.
min_tag_length 4 - ensures links are not made for tags shorter than min_tag_length of 4. To view any tags in your system that are shorter than min_tag_length, open file short_tags.txt (if present) in your project folder.

In the middle of the box, new custom edits can be inserted, in consultation with GMCL. Click the Insert button to add each to the list.

The lower box displays the Current Custom Edits enabled, listed alphabetically. If you wish to delete an entry, select the appropriate one from this final list and click the Remove button.

These entries are stored in the registry so that they do not have to be re-entered on subsequent builds.

About AutoCAD Color Mapping

In DBDOC, AutoCAD and Microstation drawings are always displayed with a white background (for better printing), so some colors may not show up as well in your M14 displayed in Hyperview as they do on your workstations. When you build your M14 with BuildPlus, you may wish to change these colors.

If you wish to map one color to another in BuildPlus, you will need to be able to specify the new color using its Red-Green-Blue (RGB) values. One way to obtain the RGB values for a particular color is to use an external application like Microsoft Paint.

For example, using Microsoft Paint, or another drawing program, you may choose a darker yellow that you would like DBDOC to use in place of this light yellow. In Paint, this functionality is accessed through the Colors | Edit Colors menu item. Click on the Define Custom Colors button to access the advanced color features. Enter the RGB values of the color you wish to change into the Red, Green and Blue boxes on the lower right.

Now, the color chooser will display the color as it is currently being drawn. To darken the color, use the arrow on the far right to slide down the darkness scale.

In the BuildPlus Custom Edit window, to map the color index 51 to the new set of RGB values, simply type the following into the text box above the Insert button:

dxf-color 51,210,210,0

and press Insert. Now, when you rebuild your M14, all instances of color index 51 (light yellow) will be replaced by the darker yellow you have selected. Make sure that there is only one dxf-color statement per index (in this case 51) as DBDOC will only pay attention to the last one.
